The pressure to be 'high-functioning' is killing me

I got diagnosed ADHD but because I 'seem fine' (I mask very well), people minimize it. 'You don't look ADHD,' 'You have a job so you must be exaggerating.' The exhaustion of being high-functioning is what landed me in crisis.

I'm fine until I'm not. Then I crash hard.

If you're 'high-functioning' but struggling, how do you make people understand it's still real?

The exhaustion is real — masking is a full-time job stacked on top of your actual life.

Thank you for putting this into words. Quietly bookmarking for my own hard days.
