Medication side effects are worse than the condition

ADHD meds help focus but: reduced appetite (child losing weight), sleep disruption (nightmares), emotional flatness. Child says meds make them feel 'not like themselves.' Do we keep going or try something else?

Trade-off isn't clear.

How do you decide if medication benefits outweigh side effects?

For me it wasn't a personality change, just less static in the background. Everyone's different though, so go slow and keep talking to your prescriber.
