When everything becomes a battle, the family system is usually overloaded, not lazy or broken. Pick one pressure point: homework, mornings, bedtime, or screens. Change the environment before increasing consequences. Snacks, movement, visual steps, fewer verbal reminders, and a decompression window can do more than another lecture.

Specific asks work better than general concern β€” 'written instructions and one movement break' is much harder to dismiss than 'more support.'
