Board exams + neurodivergence — how do we actually do this?

My 10th grader is genuinely smart. But board exams are a sensory and executive-function nightmare: three hours of sitting still, silence, time pressure = maximum ADHD. The school says 'no extra time allowed' (there's actually a law for this — they just don't know it).

If your teen is facing CBSE/ICSE/State boards: are you pushing for accommodations like a scribe, extra time, or separate invigilation? How do you study with their brain instead of against it? And what's your sanity plan for the year?

('Just focus' is not a strategy.)

Pinning this — it saves families months of fighting. Quick anchor: under the RPWD Act, candidates with disabilities can request accommodations like extra time and a scribe for board exams; boards have a process even when school staff say 'we've never done it.' For those who've won accommodations: what did the written request look like?

Teacher here. Put the request in writing, addressed to the school AND the board, with the diagnostic report attached. 'We've never done it' is not the same as 'it's not allowed.' Document everything.
