How do I tell people about my diagnosis when I am not ready for their reactions?

You get to choose the level of disclosure. You might share the practical part first: 'I process verbal instructions better when I can also see them written down.' You do not owe everyone your full diagnostic history. A boundary can be both honest and brief.

My accommodations turned out to be embarrassingly cheap for the company: headphones, written briefs, fewer meetings. Worth asking.
