Interviews stack everything ADHD finds hard: high stakes, sitting still, working memory under pressure. Preparation is your equaliser.

Before

  • Research the company until it's boring
  • Pre-write stories for likely questions
  • Build in extra travel time so lateness isn't a variable

During

  • It's fine to ask for a question to be repeated.
  • Jot a keyword before answering, to anchor working memory.
  • If you blank, narrate it briefly and move — interviewers forgive a reset.

On transparency

Some people find a light, in-the-moment mention ('I think best when I jot a note first') eases the pressure. Optional, never required.

You're being assessed on whether you can do the job, not on whether you can sit perfectly still for 45 minutes.
